Meet Your Instructor: Aurelio Solver Agcaoili, PhD

Aurelio Solver Agcaoili, PhD, is the chair of the Department of Indo-Pacific Languages and Literatures at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. For 13 years, he coordinated the university's Ilokano Language and Culture Program, where he developed and expanded course offerings focused on Ilokano language, literature, and cultural studies. He was awarded the prestigious United States Fulbright Scholarship in 2020. In 2022, he served as a visiting lecturer at the School of Advanced Studies at Saint Louis University. He taught as a visiting professor at his alma mater, the University of the Philippines. Dr. Agcaoili is recognized for his writing in three languages and across multiple genres, reflecting his deep engagement with literature, linguistics, and cultural narratives. He also established the NAKEM Conferences, a global movement promoting heritage languages and indigenous cultures.
