Marielle Concejo

Marielle Concejo is the Administrative Associate and Executive Intern for the Manilatown Heritage Foundation. She is a San Francisco local and a graduate of California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo with a degree in Anthropology and Geography and a minor in Psychology.

When she first heard of the Manilatown Heritage Foundation, she interned as a receptionist during the Summer of 2017. After graduating in the Summer of 2019, she returned back to MHF as an intern again but also a staff member. In 2020, she also gained the role of Administrative Associate for the foundation. During her time with us, she has aimed to learn about the Philippine culture that she could not receive in her household and her education. Learning about her heritage is a never-ending process that excites her.

She loves her city but when she’s not home, she also loves spending time in Oakland, Berkeley, San Luis Obispo, and the Sierra Nevadas. Apart from her work at the Manilatown Heritage Foundation, Marielle loves to stay active by dancing, hiking, and riding her fixed-gear track bike throughout the city. She is also fond of music and music events. Her favorite artists are Flume, Hozier, Tokimonsta, James Blake, CloZee, and The Strokes.
